Can I walk on the treadmill?

Hello Ladies ! I'm 5 weeks and 2 days today and is it ok to walk on the treadmill? I haven't gone to the doctors yet to ask . I just don't want to over do it in my first trimester but if it's 100% fine then why not start walking .
