Question

I have the coil but over the last few days I have been having light cramps and very light bleeding, like just when I wipe but it's stopped, only lasted a day or so, and now I can't find the strings to make sure is still in place. I also over all just feel shit very hormonal as crying a lot which is how I felt when I first got pregnant with my daughter? Anybody had this with the coil or is there a chance it could of fell out without me realising? I feel confused about the whole situation, I don't think it would be late enough for me to take a test so just wanting some opinions! Thanks!

Also I have had the could for over 6 months and have had normal regular periods since getting it!

Answer

On mirena I had cramping on and off . I had it checked twice with ultrasound and it was fine . It's a normal side effect with the IUD. I also had zero periods while on it , so maybe this is happening to you too now, btw it's amazing ! Haha. The string can curl itself around the cervix making it it hard to feel or get ahold of.  Since these are new symptoms from it for you, it'd be worth getting a check up to put your mind at ease that everything is okay with it .
