Nuva ring and excessive bleeding?

So to make it short: Started spotting for the first time ever in my life 2 weeks ago. I've had the ring for 5 months and have never had a problem before this. My period is supposed to start this Friday but I'm still "spotting" (more like a light period now I got through 2 pads a day).

My doctor took out my nuva ring after a pelvic examination and has put me on the mylan pill to try to stop the bleeding.

Just curious if anyone has had this problem with the nuva ring? I honestly love it. Its my fave birth control (and I've tried everything besides the hormonal iud and getting my tubes tied lol). I wanna go back on it once this gets sorted but I'm afraid this bleeding problem will happen again.
