Taking kids to your Dr apts

Does anyone else take their kids w them to the Dr?

My husband is a truck driver so, I have no one to bring w me and he won't let anyone but our moms watch our kids and my mom lives 5hrs away and his mom is pretty sick w RA most days.

My older two are out of town right now w my Mom, but I'm taking my 2 yr old, well he'll be 2 in Sept...

Anything to make this go smooth? Last time he was okay. But freaked out when I had to get on the table n when the Dr touched my belly lol he's so shy w strangers he's a totally different kid..
