Do you think it's wrong to tell someone that the food they cooked is "nasty" or any other negative remark without being asked?
A couple of months back my brother in law was at me and my husband's house for the weekend. I cooked one of my husband's favorites; chicken enchiladas with white sauce (sour cream based). At dinner, my brother in law out of nowhere says "this is pretty nasty" and pushes his plate away. I look at him like 😧 because my husband and I think it's great and if he just wanted to say he didn't like it he could have said it in a much better way. So of course I was offended, he refused to apologize, mocked me to my husband when he thought I couldn't hear, and we haven't invited him for dinner since (this wasn't the first occasion, he always has nothing but negative things to say no matter what we fix).
