my surprise birth 😱👶🏽

During my pregnancy I was considered high risk due to me previously being a type 1 diabetic, so I was always walking on egg shells. My A1c levels had dropped from 8.3 to 6.3 within the first few months of my pregnancy and I made sure to eat foods that wouldn't raise them dramatically high. Everything seem perfect and as if I was out the danger zone but on Father's Day my whole life had changed. My boyfriend and I had spent earlier the day together before I had to go to work when I began to have contractions. I had thought they were Braxton hicks and even had these same pains days before, but this being my first pregnancy and running to google I chalked it up to be something minor. The contractions were getting stronger this particular day coming every 10 minutes so I finally decided to head to the hospital. By the time I had got my service checked I was 4.5 centimeters dilated! I was in complete shock not prepared mentally nor physically to deliver my baby this soon. I was only 26 weeks and 2 days and so many thoughts of the complete worse were running through my head. I didn't receive epidural until 2 hours after being admitted only because I had choose to wait it out. Then the drs decided it was time to push so we went to a delivery room and after the first 10 pushes he was out. I was so out of it I didn't even get a good chance to see my baby. All I had heard was his precious cry. Hours later I finally was able to see him and he was plugged with tubes. Luckily Malek is a fighter and soon was able to get off his breathing machine just 24 hours after being born. He also got a pic line and he has just steadily been progressing by the days. Malek's orginial due date was 09/22 ( his fathers birthday) but I guess he has other plans lol. I never will fully understand why I had him so early but we are truly blessed to have him here and healthy. Alhamduillah 🙌🏽
