Those breastfeeding/pumping mothers: what do you wear at bedtime to assure you do not leak all over?

My 9 week old baby girl has been sleeping through the night since 6 weeks. I stopped waking in the middle of the night to do a pump session, but have often found myself with a wet ring around my boob and on my sheets. I do have a good supply, averaging about 10-15 ounces every three-four hours. I've taken to wearing three breast pads on each breast during the night, just with all my shifting throughout my sleep. Anyone else have a better solution?

I had to take an overnight period pad, cut it in half and put 1/2 in each bra cup. It worked really well. A lot more absorbent than breast pads. Just make sure to put the cut side up or you risk the filling leaking out.

I stopped pumping in the middle of the night as well, and my milk eventually regulated. I no longer wake up with wet sheets.

Your milk will adjust itself over time if you continue to not pump and baby sleeps during the night. You may experience engorgement but this too will lessen over time. Heat and being sure to drain both breasts at first feeding/pumping in the morning will help you avoid that dreaded mastitis. I like my sleep too much to wake for a pumping when my little is fast asleep. Your body naturally adjusts to what your baby needs so it will not harm your milk production. Like you previously I had an abundance of milk and would need to use multiple pads all day and night. I used a more fitted sports bra at night to help hold pads in place. Just know you know your body best and what works for you is whats best! Good luck mama!

I wear this bra from motherhood with nursing pads and most nights I'm fine. And it's super comfy, doesn't feel like a bra.

I sleep w a regular shirt or tank with my nursing bra, i never slept w my bra on but since i leak i use my nursing pad and my bra all day.. my boobs hate it after awhile

I've slept naked since I was 16, and have a horrible time sleeping with clothes on as it literally feels like I'm being strangled hahah. But I did wear a bra the first few weeks but at 6-7 weeks I said screw it. I took one of the hospital bed pads and I just lay that down on the bed and if I leak- I leak. When I bring my LO to bed to nurse him during night I'll throw a burp cloth over my other boob to catch the leaks then (I side lay and nurse) but yeah I can't wear a bra to bed. Nope.

It's really bad  for your supply to go all night and not pump. It won't effect your supply instantly but in time it will. Also getting that full on a regular basis is a good way to end up with a clogged duct which can lead to mastitis. I'd just keep a pump on bedside table and pump in middle of night then you won't have to worry about leaking everywhere and will have a nice supply of frozen milk 😊
