Ideal Breastfeeding Cutoff Age?

What do you think is the appropriate age to wean your child? (I only added the "after 3 years" because I've know people who've done it)

My goal is to breastfeed for a minimum of 1 year but I'd prefer not to go past 2 years. After 2 I'll still pump and store my milk because of all of the health and immune system benefits it will provide for my son but I don't want to continue the actual act of breastfeeding. But we'll see how it all really happens 😊

No matter what age people think it will change. It's ok saying omg I have to stop at 6,9,12 months but until that day comes no one knows! 12 months was long enough for me last time. I'm 9 months in this time and I can't wait for it to end 😥😥😥

The WHO recommends breastfeeding til AT LEAST 2! But you go for how ever long or short you and your child feels necessary.

So before I was pregnant I thought I would breastfeed until my baby was 6 month old because I didn't know you had to give them bm or formula until 1. Of course I learnt this whilst I was pregnant so figured I'd see how I got on. In those early months I couldn't see me going past 6 months as my baby approached 6 months and then at 6 months started to wean bf was an absolute doddle ha so I continued.. now I definitely never thought I'd continue bf after 12 months but my little one is now 13 months and I don't quite see us stopping yet. He doesn't always want to nurse before bed or first thing on a morning but most days he does. I'm going back to work in 2 weeks so I won't always be around first thing in the morning. I'm thinking atleast at this stage I'm going to let him selfwean so we shall see xx

Age 1 for us because that's when he wanted to eat food like us. But my mom breastfed my brother until he was 4. Even tho there wasn't much nutritional value anymore it was just his soothing method.
