no period on birthcontrol shot??

Question

I am on the birthcontrol shot. I have been since September of 2016. Is it normal to have light bleeding but it's not really thick blood? It's light red and very thin. It only happens once a day every 3 months. I don't have a period anymore. I'm only 16 and ive had sex 3 times but you can't get pregnant on the shot can you? I've took a pregnancy test in the past and it was always negative. Help please!

I was on the shot for a total of 6 months (1 shot every 3 months) & I didn't get my period for a year and a half. They say it's harder for you to get pregnant once you stop getting the shot but deff get on birth control cuz I wasn't on it after I stopped taking it I finally got my period after a year and a half and 5 months later I got pregnant. I hated the shot tho I lost sooo much hair and has pregnancy symptoms all the time but never was pregnant. It was nice not having my period tho I can't complain bout that 🙂

It's normal to spot in between, not get your period at all, and to get it too much. It all depends on your body
