would you invite a nanny to your kids' bday party?

So i am a nanny... I've looked after this child for a year now but we are very close and the family really likes me... her birthday party is tomorrow but they didn't invite me at all... i found it really quite rude... i was actually even planning to invite their child to come to my niece's party as I don't have children of my own... anyway even when I worked in a nursery before I used to get invitations to go to my key-children parties so I was a bit surprised. What do you guys think?
