Questions about Paragard???

Can anyone please enlighten me about their experience with ParaGard? I had Mirena and it gave me chronic migraines, so I had no choice but to remove it. So now I'm considering ParaGard because of it being non hormonal. My main concern is that my original reason of being on bc is to prevent my severe cramps and heavy bleeding BUT I read some reviews that ParaGard gives you heavy bleeding and cramps throughout your time of using it. 😩😩Is it the same experience for everyone using this particular IUD? Does the heavy bleeding contribute in the beginning stage of getting the IUD or its something you have to put up with for the remainder time of having it?

I had the Paragard for 2 years and absolutely LOVED it! I am unable to use hormonal birth control so it was the perfect fit for me. My periods did get a little heavier and some months I was crampy but it was nothing unbearable or that was a deal breaker for me. I never had any issues with my husband being able to feel it or it moving out of position, and I only got it removed because we wanted to try and start a family. And in regards to getting pregnant after the removal, I was pregnant a month and a half after getting it out!

I've only had two periods so far with Paragard. I was on the pill for 10 years before switching, and before that I had painful, fairly heavy periods. So, I was expecting my first few periods to be AWFUL. My first period was very mild, barely any cramping and a medium flow at its peak. My second period was very light, with slight cramps for about two hours total. That said, Paragard is been GREAT for me so far. I think I'm the minority, though, most ladies seem to have heavier/longer/more painful periods. Everyone is different, so you won't know until you try it.

Huge Paragard fan! I've had mine for 2 1/2 years. Heavier periods? Yes. Worth it to be hormone-free and feel like myself again? YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!! 🙌🏼

Before I had Paraguard my periods were short, relatively painless and light. After I got it, 2 years ago it became the opposite. Heavy, longer periods and lots of cramping. Sometimes the cramps take my breath away. Despite the suckiness of the symptoms though, it was the best choice for me. I still have my sex drive (due to Paraguard not having hormones) and don't have to worry about missing or buying the pill (I live overseas nomadically and don't have a way to get the Pill regularly).
