Would you recommend a crib aquarium soother? I'm wondering if the lullabies and lights would help my baby go to sleep or be distracting and keep him awake. Thank you!!

Something way better that I found at target that is similar that puts my son to sleep is this little elephant that projects star lights on the walls and ceiling at night!

Sometimes it's the only thing that calms my son. The lights inside it however,are in s horrible spot and shoot down into the crib and get your baby right in the eyes.  I'd put it on one of the short sides of the crib, not the long sides. My son absolutely loves playing with it though. It is definitely too bright to soothe him to sleep in the middle of the night because of how the lights shine directly on his face if he lays down, but that can easily be looked past because of how fast it snaps my son out of one of his crying fits where nothing works to soothe him. He LOVES it, and when he's older I'll let him use it to help him get to sleep, but for now it's a distraction/play toy. Also, the little remote that comes with it only turns it on and off if you physically go press the machine's starfish down on the corner. If it isn't pressed before trying to use the remote then the remote does nothing. The remote also won't work through walls or through anything solid like a door. I gave the useless remote to my son - he likes paying with the big starfish button on it.
If you can find a different one that won't blind your baby the second you turn it on and that has a remote that works from afar without you having to physically go touchthe machine first, it's probably a better idea to get that different one. This one was the only one I could find in the store and I really didn't feel like returning it. Also. If you have a crib with a thick edged railing it will be impossible to install unless you install it the "dad" way and use zip-ties like I did. So many things about this specific one needs to be changed because it's not really user friendly, but it is still a working product. If you can't find anything better then I'd recommend putting it on the shorter length side of your baby's crib just so the lights dont shine right in his/her eyes. There's pretty much no escaping those lights unless baby is on eye level with the product itself. The brightness isn't adjustable.

I thought it would be awesome, and my son really likes it but we just ended up using the white noise "waves" setting because every other setting was too stimulating. Ours has a parent check light button on the top and he'll will stand in front of it and play with it sometimes in the morning. Save yourself the money and just plug in an old radio for white noise haha
