What I did was get a large, empty trash can and fill it with newspaper. I used a top to a large, coconut oil jar and put some peanut butter on it and leveled it half on the counter and half hanging over the edge above the trash can. The mouse will walk on it and the weight will tip the lid over and it will fall into the trash can. The newspaper will break the fall, and get a trash can large enough where they can't jump back out. Slick the sides with some type of oil first just to make it more difficult. When you release it, release it over a mile away from your house

I work in a warehouse and we had a mouse get in once - I captured little mousey in a cardboard box and then set him free outside. He scared the living shit out of me (and my boss made fun of me for the next month for screaming and then crying) but he was super cute 😂 don't kill themmmmm

I tried the glue trap once, I have 6 cats figured if the mouse survived them he deserved a chance to be released. Caught the mouse, and my cat decided it was a free easy meal on a sticker! Woke up to a cat licking her lips, stuck to a glue trap by her feet, and one little mouse foot stuck in the glue also. I felt bad for the mouse, but wasn't happy having to wash all my pots & pans as the mouse had run all over them. Used olive oil to unstick the cat. No more glue traps for us, either humane live ones or the cats get you. We only recently had a second mouse, the cats being them in as presents and let them go! But 11 years in a heavily rodent populated area with only 2 mice is not bad. And yes I'm sure that's it, it's a small house with 6 cats.
