i had 0 but still money coming in because i worked  so it's not about money it's about if you are ready or not ( married or having ur own place )

I'm married, a housewife, my husband has had a good job at the same place for 4 years and keeps moving up in the company, he makes good money, we have 0 debt, a good savings, yadda yadda but he's concerned about how much money to have before having a child (he wants to be able to afford vacations every year for the child, college fun, car at 16, etc) and that's what's currently preventing him from wanting a child. 
I however, feel like you don't need the luxury of a vacation every single year if you can't afford it, and the child can help pay for a car and college and everything and that you don't need ALL the money for a child saved up before it's even born and can save as the child grows and that you'll probably never have 100% of what you need to afford a child before they're even born and that that doesn't mean the child won't live a good life or have a happy childhood.

But, I'm going to go ahead and let him keep working and saving until he feels more comfortable and ready. Maybe some of these comments can help me later. Fingers crossed that one day he feels like he's financially ready for a child without me trying to explain him that we already are. I want him to feel ready and with his own goals met.

Mine was a surprise so we had nothing saved. We managed. I started babysitting at about 4 weeks postpartum I was able to spend time with my daughter and bring in some cash.

I didn't have much at all put back. I only put back enough to pay a couple bills while I was out on maternity leave so I wouldn't get behind. We had gotten the essentials before or son was ever born and my husband still had his check coming in while I was out of work so it wasn't too hard for us
