should I buy a frer?!

Hi all! New to the group and ttc #2. It took 6 cycles to get our first, and we're only on our second cycle of trying, but hopeful for a March baby. My cycles are kind of all over the place since I had a 2016 baby and have been breastfeeding, but I'm pretty sure I ovulated around the 17-18th of June. I have no self control and took a dollar tree test this morning - stark white negative. 

My question is, do you think a FRER would pick anything up today? I've heard of good positives on those at  8 dpo. I'm tempted to go get one because this morning when I started to make my favorite flavored coffee, the smell of the grounds made me gag/almost puke.
