Some kids need it. Some don't. Mine did. If your kid bolts like mine did, then use it. It's for their safety.

If I had a kid I would be for it not only does it give the kid a little 'liberty' as they may think, it keeps them safe when you have your hands full. They won't wander off, get lost, or get taken by a stranger.

Some kids/ parents need it. My friends daughter who is only just under 2 years old can unbuckle herself and climb out of the stroller. She also has a 4 month old, and a 7 year old with autism. So she has her hands full. If that keeps the middle child from running off then fantastic.

I'd rather strangers who dont matter to me judge me for a few seconds, than be in a busy busy place (like Disney or somthing) and lose my child if they somehow got away from me.

I got this for my daughter. She's 14 mos old and not walking very confidently, but know it won't be long. She'll have a little independence, I'll have my hand on her at all times. My son had a monkey and I never got an ugly comment.

He's clumsy and I don't want him hurt. 
He's a crazy moved and I don't want him lost. 
He's a sweetheart and I don't want him kidnapped for helping someone.   
And once again he's cute and sickos kidnap cute kids who trust to much. 
These are just some of the reasons my child will use a baby leash.

I literally hate these things! I feel like it's putting your kid on a leash like they're some kind of animal. That being said I understand the need for them in certain situations. However, I hate their design. I have seen another type that attaches to the parents wrist and then to the child's wrist. I like this idea better because it looks like an extension of holding hands. Totally for the backpack leashes!!!!! I was 8 months pregnant and in the Walmart parking lot and this small boy no older than 3 snatched his hand away from him mom and told her no and took off running across the parking lot. He was 3 isles over before they got him!!!!! I am all for keeping my child safe from being hit by a car or being snatched up by a stranger! You best believe I'll be yanking her back if I need to 😂

I always thought it looked strange but after dealing with my husband's one-year-old niece I can definitely see the appeal. 😅

That having been said, I don't think I would ever use one. 🤞🏽
