This is my first time (and his) experiencing this. He's going, I'm staying. I'm trying to cheer him up and stay positive because he seems scared even though he doesn't completely say it. I've seen military movies and lately there's been a lot and I'm honestly scared something happens to him but judging by my family and friends I know that have been there they come back alive and all, just with a bit of trauma but I understand that. He says we will only be able to send letters(?) not texts or calls, not often or every day... he'll be away for a long time though. 3-13 months. What is it like for the girl who waits? What can you send him in a care package? Did your boyfriend change? Pros and cons?
