sleep training?

First time mom here. My baby is only 2 and a half weeks old but I really would like to know how do I start to put her on a sleeping schedule?

It's far too early for sleep training or to expect a schedule. Sleep training is many months down the line and right now your baby is on their own schedule and that's okay. But there are some things you can do to encourage a bed time. In the evenings, turn the lights down and turn any sound down. Swaddle your baby and create a soothing environment. Just don't be frustrated when you don't see any kind of schedule emerge it might take a couple of months. Some babies sleep through the night right away but most take a few months at the very least.

Please don't. Read about the 4th trimester ... baby should be fed and sleep on demand (when they want to). They need lots of sleep and their days and nights are mixed up because remember in your belly your movement during the day lulled baby to sleep and your stillness had baby up partying all night long... this is all normal and will take time to sort out.. baby is brand new and all they need is love and cuddles, lots of diaper changes, breastmilk/formula on demand and sleep whenever they want!

You don't, not with a baby that young. It's recommended not to start sleep training til at least 4 months. Until then baby will go in and out of sleep routines depending on growth spurts. Just follow your baby's cues for now.

No schedules this young. You CAN set up routines (babies loooove routines) but not on a time-based schedule. You have to just follow baby's hungry/tired cues for now.

At this age we started to do the same things before bed - bath, lotion, then clean diaper, pajamas, read a story, swaddle/put into sleep sack, then I'd nurse him to sleep. Often my husband would do the routine with a bottle of expressed milk. When he got a bit older and started napping in his crib instead of all over the place all the time, we did a short version of the routine before his naps too. He's super easy to put down to sleep most days, and it's possible starting the routine early helped.

We didn't have a schedule until my son was 6 months old, and even then it was very flexible - if he wanted a nap half an hour before naptime usually was, he could have a nap.
