nuva ring or IUD??

So I've been on and off the pill for years now and always have bad side effects that come with it one way or another, I've been off bc for a few months but am getting sick of using condoms so I was thinking about either getting the nuva ring or an IUD but really don't know much about either! If anyone has any stories/experiences to share good or bad they would be super appreciated!!

I had an iud, the mireana. It worked well, didnt have any side effects. When i got it put in the doctor suggested about an hour before to take some tylenol to help with pain. They insert it just like your having a pelvic exam. Best advice do not hold your breath, blow out, and as hard as it may seem wiggle your toes. Wiggling your toes helps you from tensing up the doctor had me do this the second time around after i got the first one removed and a new one inserted.

My periods were always light when i had this bc, typically only needed a panty liner and lasted about 3 days.

When i was younger i used the nuva ring, i didnt care for it much. Was easy to insert, the doctor told me to empty a tampon applicator and then insert the ring into it and then insert it into your just as you would a tampon. The only downfall was i got constant yeast infections from it. So i stopped that and went to the iud.

I have an iud. It's the most effective form of BC (99.8%). The only problem is that you have very bad spotting and cramps at first. But you don't have to worry about BC for 3-12 years Depending on what you get. I have mirena
