Do you prefer...

Question

Do you find it easier to just breastfeed instead of having to use a pump?  Or do you do both?  Is it more time consuming to do both?

With my first I couldnt get her to latch so I only pumped and it was a NIGHTMARE anytime I wasnt pumping, I was feeding I felt like I had no time to do anything else, I was either feeding her a bottle or attached to a pump never again.

With my first I hated pumping, never really got more than an ounce each side and my son didn't take a bottle until he was 8 months old lol. So I gave up on pumping and just breastfed until a year. Now with DS2 I've been pumping up to 3 times a day and getting a lot more, and pretty fast! So I've been really enjoying being able to bring a bottle when we go visit family and stuff. And our family loves being able to feed him! With our first I felt anxious giving that up and letting someone else feed baby.. it really depends!

Pumping. I tried breast feeding but he was having trouble latching and I just felt pumping would be easier. It has been really time consuming though because I feed him, change him then pump so I only get like 2 hours of sleep until he has to get up again. But I bought a nursing bra that holds the pumps in place so I can feed him while I'm pumping so even when he's done I'm half way done with pumping so gives him a few minutes to poop or pee then I change him, and it's cut the hour into like a half hour.

When I was bf'ing my youngest, I would pump as she nursed. Two birds, one stone. Lol. She never took a bottle though so I spent the first 4 months saving milk she ultimately never used. Smdh

Mostly I just breastfed my 2nd and only pumped occasionally to have extra on hand for Daddy to feed her until about 10mo when she started losing interest in the breast and started only bf-ing twice a day. It worked out great, so we'll probably do the same with 3 (due in Sept)

I pump when he's sleep, or on my husband's day off but other than that I just do breast I love the bonding experience

Once you get the hang of it, straight breastfeeding is easiest and fastest. I hate pumping but mostly just fiddling with all the parts, assembling, disassembling, washing, storing. Having them fall on the floor. Having them break.

I only pumped . Worked for me got a good freezer stashfor her, donated to other moms and ditched the pump at 10 months

I do both.
I prefer actually breastfeeding. I love the cuddles and cute faces she makes, and how sweet she is. Pumping annoys me, and I only do it if its neccesary.
