Periods after breast feeding

My son is 20 months old and I stopped nursing him at 16 months. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for 3 months and nothing. Note that when I nursed I had not periods. And now they are every 28 to 30 days but they start with burnish discharge then 3 days later it starts like a regular period. Should I be worried? I am 37 and my husband is 45.
