POSSIBLE impending proposal? haaaaalp!

Question

My boyfriend and I have been dating since early December 2016 and we haven't looked back since.

We've made long term plans and scheduled several vacations this summer. Our big trip to Key West is taking place the last week of July and I am hoping and praying this is when he pops the question.

For those of you who've been through this cat and mouse game before, are there any hints, behaviors, tells that I can look out for before this happens? I hate to sound cliché but I'd at least like to have my nails done and a cute outfit on during what I hope will be an amazing & photographed occasion.

Any insight is greatly appreciated 😍💗

Just breath.. Get your nails done before you go. You'll make yourself sick if you stress. 6 months isn't very long to be dating so if he doesn't propose, don't worry. Just enjoy your trips.

I totally agree 6 months isn't long. My ex and I were together for roughly 8 years, got a condo and it STILL wasn't right. With my current partner, everything fits. We've done so much in 6 months and can't imagine not doing those things together. I used to roll my eyes when people got engaged within 6 months but I mean, I can now honestly say that when you know- you know. Never felt that way dating my ex for 8 years and all the idiots in between. 💜

Six months isn't that long. A lot of people don't get engaged that early. It isn't worth the stress of worrying. You'll probably ruin your vacations being so observant and thinking about it so much. Just relax and have fun. It may even prompt him to ask the question sooner than he plans, if things are going so well.

My now husband and I had some plans too. Every time we went on a vacation I thought it was the time. He ended up proposing on Valentine's Day because he knew I'd least expect it.

There were no signs for the real day.

There were a million and one for each trip we went on, and each time it didn't happen (Christmas morning the worst) I became depressed and sad. Every time a trip came to an end and it didn't happen, I became sad and moody.

My advice. Don't look for it. Don't analyze it. Enjoy your trip. Plan beautiful outfits, have your nails done anyways (I did each time and thankfully for the holiday). It will be sweeter and more romantic.

I had to wait an extra 5 months because he said I was too anxious and it needed to be a surprise.

Just enjoy the ride and let it happens when it happens. It's stressful trying to anticipate every little move and analyze it. I was doing that for months with my now husband and when I finally stopped, that's when he gave me a huge surprise (one Friday night after I had a couple glasses of wine and was wearing my grubby house clothes while making us nachoes for dinner...nothing cute about that at all) When I asked why that particular moment he said because he saw what our future looked like at that moment and could imagine anything better. He's a keeper!

And PS, sometimes all you need is 6 months to know when someone is "the one". I hope however it happens and whenever it happens, it's a truly memorable moment for you like mine was for me!

I don't think that sounds cliche I'd be so made if my nails were a mess 😂 I don't like them crappy looking on a normal day so I think it's totally valid to want them nice for a proposal. Good luck if he does! If he doesn't I'm sure he will eventually just enjoy your vacation!
