So my boyfriend and I have been together for 2 years now and he proposed but now he's saying he's not sure if he wants to get married because marriage is just a paper?  What do I do

Does he have a more legitimate answers besides "marriage is just a paper"? My husband and I were engaged and I remember him calling me one day when I was out shopping for wedding decor and told me he didn't want to get married right then because he wanted us to have better jobs and be more stable. I remember I instantly started crying and telling him no I wanted to get married right away and not wait. I was heartbroken but we ended up just talking about it and weighing the pros and cons of getting married. Maybe you and him just need to sit down and really talk about it. I know my story really doesn't relate because it's not a financial thing for y'all but talking to him about how you really want to be married to him might change his mind?
