No Period

Period was (not) due on Sunday and hasn't showed up yet..... not like my periods to not be normal. I took a test yesterday on a HCG strip and it was negative. Are those good reliable tests to use? How many days past your missed period did you get a BFP? Or if you were getting home negative tests how long did you wait to call the doc to get an appointment for blood work? Thanks everyone!
