Just a nose stud would be less painful than the bellybutton. Hut if you're talking septum,  that's a whole other story....

I don't have any nose piercings but of all the piercings I do have (8) it was the most painful.

My belly button hurt wayyyy worse. The nose was quick and sharp but mostly just scary to have a needle that close to my face. My belly button was pleasant to get done, but i happen to bend right at my belly area so it hurt to touch my toes while it was healing hurt for about five days. 
I personally kept my nose jewelry in for two years until i took it out for a promotion 
I personally have always kept the belly jewelry, I've had it since i was 15 and plan it keep it until i get pregnant finally ❤️

My nose hurt more but the pain was a lot more quick. With my belly button idk if she pierced too much skin but the pain seemed like it lasted a while and she had me sit up too soon and I got really lightheaded. When I got my bottom belly button pierced I didn't feel a thing and it went by so much quicker and I didn't get lightheaded. He pierced less skin though so I'm thinking that's why.

My nose wasn't bad at all, it was like popping a pimple, but my navel really hurt. Although I do have a pretty deep belly button so maybe that was why.
