How much trouble did you get into as a kid?

I got in trouble as a kid and my parents were strict so I learned how to hide things better from them. I'm going to try be more open and understanding with my kids so they hopefully don't feel like they have to hide things from me and know that I'm here to help them in anyway that I can.

I wasn't a big rule breaker so I didn't get in trouble THAT much. This may come as a shock to people, but I mostly got in trouble for being "sassy" and having a "smart mouth". Lol... 🙃😉

If I were to have kids I think I'd be more open with my kids and less judgemental. My mom was very controlling and judgmental and I consequently did(and still kind of do) hide things from her.

Never got into much actual trouble, like with the law or school or anything of such.

But I grew up in an abusive household where even being 1 minute late after curfew, I was going to get it.

I grew up trying to never get into trouble, but it always made my father believe I was hiding things and had ulterior motives, so I was treated like a house arrest criminal anyway.

This is directly going to affect how I treat and raise my kids. I would never want them to feel the way I did or grow to resent me like I did my father. I want to be able to be open and honest with them, and trust them, and I would never lay a hand on them.

I was somewhat out of control as a kid. Never with the law, but I was regularly receiving detentions and Saturday schools from about age 9 and up. I got kicked out of band when I was 10 for something stupid (but kinda funny), suspended from the school bus, and managed to avoid suspension until my senior year when I threw my phone at our vice principal (long story... still embarrassing though). Don't worry, it wasn't thaaat bad... the VP is on my FB now and recently messaged me to tell me that I'm in her top 3 favorite students of all time, so we're all good lol I used to make her laugh a lot when negotiating turning my afterschool detentions into Saturday schools so I could do more hours all at once. Afterschool detentions were too inconvenient for me I guess 😂

I never was a liar nor was disrespectful, I just did stupid things and struggled a bit with authority and controlling/expressing my anger in a healthy way.

Anyways, I had a drug addict + non-existent father, and a mother who worked very hard for us to be able to survive without child support. She didn't know what to do with me tbh but I eventually snapped out of it and straightened after seeing a counselor for a while. I think these experiences taught me a lot and I know I would be a touch more strict than my mother was with me. I think having a husband is who is more involved and on the same page is only going to help to make sure our children are given the tools to make healthy decisions.

How much did I get in trouble as in punished or how much did I do that I wasn't supposed to be doing? I'll answer both.
I've gotten grounded three times in my life. First time was in eighth grade when my two friends and I decided to get drunk off one friend's mom's patron. I came home drunk and was grounded for a month. Another was still in eighth grade when I pierced my lip. I got smacked and grounded for a week. Another time was freshman year when I didn't come home or answer my phone for three whole days because I was too stoned to even open my eyes thanks to my boyfriend at the time giving me a full weed brownie made with three times as much THC oil as the recipe called for. ✌
As for how much stuff I did that I wasn't supposed to... Too much. I dated a 21 year old at 14/15 who got me into drugs and raped me (not just statutory). With him, I smoked weed every day of every weekend, went off my anti depressants and anti anxiety meds when I wasn't supposed to, drank a little bit, dropped acid, did ecstasy, and we had both consensual and nonconsensual sex. I went out with strangers I met on the Internet during my teen years. I had sex with a 25 year old at 15 (😷😷😷 gross, I know). I went to kick backs and got drunk and high at them. I did a lot of shit and I don't regret any of it. Its those life experiences that led me to be the person I am today. They taught me a lot. Do I look back and think "wow, I was stupid"? Yes, absolutely. Did I cause myself much more trouble than it was worth? Definitely. Did it stress me out and make my depression worse? Yes. But I still wouldn't trade it for anything. During those years I still had fun. 
I do think that all these experiences will make me a better parent. Its made me realize that kids make stupid decisions and mistakes are okay. Make them while you're young. Its also given me a better understanding of drugs and why dating/having sex with adults is absolutely not okay. It also taught me where my parents/grandma went wrong

The best ppl to answer this question are my aunts and uncles they will tell you I was spoiled and had a mouth on me since the age of two. But, when I look back I don't think I got into a lot of trouble, I did however, do some funny and dumb shit.

On one occasion my cousin and I decided to have a slice of cake, but she was scared to take a piece so I went ahead and cut the cake; but what made it very interesting was that I replaced the slice that I took with paper towel and recovered it with chocolate frosting.
 Another, instance was my cousin Derrick, and I were playing around in the living room and he fell through the glass table. He swears up and down that I pushed him, and that is not the case he tripped and fell. Still til this day he says I pushed him.
 Another, memory I have is helping my nana during thanksgiving preping the food together. She had me clean the turkey and she was doing something else, so I decided to make the turkey sing and dance while she cooked. She bused out laughing. 
  Oh, this one is good I folded my cousin Brittany up in pullout couch as a kid. But, I struggled to pull her out once she was in, so I eventually got in trouble for that. 
 I really wasn't all that bad I just did things that were not the norm I guess! 🤷🏾‍♀️

My parents were strict and had high expectations. I did get in trouble as a kid, but not all that much. My brothers got into more trouble than I did. All four of us turned it really really well. They supported us and gave us unconditional love. They just didn't let us be disrespectful, deceitful, not put care into school work, etc. They had rules and we had to follow them and I really do believe they made us better people that understand responsibility and being good to others. I will follow their example as a parent one day. I do plan to make some changes, but overall my parents having rules and structure was a good thing.

None, because I was very sneaky and no one ever found out. But I did some shit I could have gotten in big trouble for.

It definetely will help me to raise my future kids if I choose to have any.

My mother would go through my stuff, so I never kept anything from my ''adventures''. I learned to lie.

Now, I see that I lacked guidance.

Kids dont need someone who will only police them and be their shadow all the time. They need guidance, a safe space, instructions, and a bit of freedom to do their own mistakes. If I had that, I wouldnt have done most of the things I did.
