LGBTQ+ and Phobia
I've just attended my very first pride parade as a bisexual, and although it was this amazing and supportive environment, and I had the time of my life I also experienced a subject that is rarely discussed, and that's phobia within the LGBTQ community. When talking to others there was a lot of biphobia and transphobia coming from the community itself. I never realized how common this sort of inside hate was until I'd attended a few more parades and parties. It's honestly disguisting, in a community where we are supposed to feel safe and included, how dare you ridicule someone for their sexual orientation or choices. How dare you look someone in the eye, someone who understands that inclusiveness in other communities is difficult, and tell them they're gross, confused, not a real woman/man, or that they HAVE to pick a gender! How is this sort of behavior not talked about enough??
