dryness

I was with my bf getting down to business but when it came down to it I was dry and we couldn't have sex. This is the first time this has happened! We foreplayed and everything! What could have caused this? Could sleep affect this? I had very little sleep the night before, like an hour or so. Or maybe water intake? My lips were really chapped.
