Harder to date an athlete?

My friend is an athlete and she always says athletes are different and hard to date. An athlete and an althete together are okay. But, an athlete and a non athlete is difficult. I don't understand. Do you? I don't think she means that they'll be too busy or anything like that.

That pretty much what every "non-ordinary" profession would say. My ex allegedly dumped me because he wants to be an actor and he thinks the lifestyle will only allow him to date another actor.

Meh, I think if you love the person, it won't matter if they're a professional athlete, actor, touring musician or has a normal desk job because you'll both compromise enough to do what it ales to maintain the relationship

I was an amateur boxer competing to be a professional boxer. My boyfriend however is not an athlete. It was hard to choose between training and spending quality time with him. I was still training but only a few times a week rather than everyday. But you make time for what you want! I wanted both but now I have a baby on the way and my priorities changed. 😁 it is difficult but not impossible.

I think that it might be harder for an athlete and non athlete to date because they'd have different energy/activity levels and would probably spend their free time on different things. Like one might want to go for a run while the other would want to relax with a movie. But they might feel like they don't do things together because of the different activity levels.

I wouldn't say it's impossible though. If you love someone, how much does it matter that they exercise and you don't?

Dating anyone can be hard for various reasons. I'm currently doing my veterinary surgical internship/residency and in an LDR with my boyfriend. He'll come visit me for a weekend and maybe spend 3-4hrs with me a day. We don't have tons of time to talk on the phone, we can't Skype/call daily either. I'm just too busy basically being a slave to my patients. But we make it work. One of my best friends is a lawyer- she also works crazy hours and finds it really hard to date people because she doesn't have a lot of time. Even my friends with more free time and energy to dedicate to a relationship have difficulties dating. No relationship is easy and everyone struggles with dating. But when you're with someone you care about you out in the time and effort.
