Can you change the time you take your birth control pill?

I was just wondering if you can change the time you take your birth control a certain way or if it's just not safe?

Yep you absolutely can! Like Samantha said, once you start a new pack you can just start it at your new time. If you can't wait, you'd have to take one pill at your previous time, then another at the new time and keep taking it at the new time.

If you're on the mini pill though, you don't have as much of a window since it loses effectiveness if taken more than 3 hours late. Combination pills can be taken up to 12 hours late :)

It defends on what pill you are taking. If it's the combined pill, to my knowledge, you can change the time when you start a new pack. I've done that and never had an issue. As long as you don't take it more than 12 hours difference any other time, it shouldn't be an issue. You're supposed to take it around the same time to increase effectiveness so I would probably suggest changing the time when starting a new pack. If it's the mini pill (progesterone only pill) it is especially important to take it at the same time as even an hour delay could decrease effectiveness greatly. To get a more definite and professional opinion, I would speak to your doctor though. This is just information I've gathered since I started the pill.
