Hospital bag

Stupid question, but I can't help but wonder, for my bag should I just bring a backpack, and for the baby should it just be a diaper bag or what else should I bring for baby? Of course diapers, but do I need bottles and my breast pump, or will the hospital supply both, and how many outfits, as babies tend to poop on everything you know and love.
