Was induced at 39weeks due to gestational diabetes. Started getting the medication for the induction at 4am with my 5th child I was confident it would be quick being that it was my 5th child. My cervix was high and only dilating 1 at that time 3hrs later i had only advanced to a 3 2hrs later i was only a 4 i had gotten the epidural but had them stop the drip due to it dropping my BP and causing me severe dizziness. I advanced to a 7 by 9pm my doctor wasn't seeing much progress and was insisting on a c section but my amazing nurse kept encouraging me to wait so we agreed that we would wait 2hrs and see the progress buy that time the feeling in my legs where returning along with the contraction pains it was long and painful was checked and luckily we advanced to a 9 1/2 by 11pm called the doctor by 11:00 finally i was at a 10 doctor came in and she didn't even need me to push she came out on her own by11:22pm i was exhausted longest labor of all 5 of my kids but it was worth it. I was told because i was diabetic and it was taking so long for her to come out and was assured she would be at least a 9lb baby she came out 7lbs 13oz no complications just perfect so if u have gestational diabetes don't do what i did and stress out all the time it will be fine
