calling into work??

so I'm working two jobs right now, one of them is SUPER understanding when it comes to calling in.. the other, not at all.. ive only been working this second job for about a month, and i called in one time like 6 hours before my shift and the next day, the corporate manager basically told me if i did it again, they'd get rid of me.. so I'm supposed to work both jobs today, but I feel sooo sick,(6 weeks 5 days pregnant).. honestly i just want to tell the second job to kiss my ass 😭😭😭

Sorry but if you've only been there a month and your calling in twice already, I'd be annoyed too and probably write you up the second time. Being pregnant really sucks and the sickness is pretty terrible. I had horrible sickness with both my pregnancies and I had to work through it. They can be understanding to a point but there has to be a line between running an business and having new employees call in. It sucks crap being sick while you work but you have to keep in mind they have a business to run too. There's lots of sickness remedies to try and if those don't work talk to your doctor. Workplaces still have a business to run and if I had a new employee calling in twice in the first month for morning sickness I'd be frustrated too. Trust me I've been there for the horrible sickness but they still have a business to run at the end of the day. Good luck!

If you worked for my work and called out 2 times in the first month you would be fired. They understand pregnancy but also you are still very early at 6 weeks... there is still 34 weeks to go... you need to learn to cope with pregnancy.

Not trying to be rude- but You need to talk to your doctor and learn how to cope with it. I also work two jobs. I work in the healthcare field and have had to get sick in patient's trash cans at least a dozen times. When you call in , you are letting your team, customers, business, patients, etc. down. Hate to say it but You are only going to feel worse as the pregnancy goes on 😕 a business cannot run if it's employees call in every time they do not feel good.

I don't know where you're from and what's the legislation in your state regarding this, but in Europe the moment you announce your boss that you are pregnant, you benefit from special protection by the law and the company is unable to fire you. You still can't miss from work without having a medical recommendation but you are allowed to reduce your work hours and still be 100% paid and you also get up to 16 hours a month for medical investigations and they are also 100% paid

My company has been vile, they are unsupportive & haven't even done my risk assessment. Ignore these negative comments, you need to do what's best for you! No everyone is the same; people cope different! So what if these women are absolutely incredible and can work through it, if you don't want to work through it and can afford not to then do what is necessary for you!! Gosh, thought women were meant to stick together not be vile! Good luck to you xx
