Is this normal?

Lately I have noticed that at night I wake up gasping for air or something weird is going on with my breathing. Is anyone else experiencing this I'm 24wks pregnant?

I have the same problem! I havnt heard any advice on how to fix it though :( 23 weeks 4 days

It sounds like sleep apnea, and it can be deadly if it's not diagnosed and treated, I'd really get it check out soon

Don't sleep on your back or stomach, try to sleep on you side with a pillow under your head and between your legs. Left side is best because it doesn't cause pressure on your liver and your baby gets the most nutrients.

It can also happen with anxiety. I have a thyroid condition and when my thyroid plays up it can give me palpitations and fast heart rate. I also sometimes wake up from sleep gasping. With the thyroid its hormonal imbalances that cause it so you may find it is just a symptom of pregnancy temporarily. Sleep apnea is also a possibility but my dad has that and he's always said he isn't aware of the times he wakes gasping, it's my mum who told him as he used to terrify her when she was lying next to him!

Ive been getting it...but only when I wake up to find myself on my back. Im 21 weeks

I had this a few years back only during the summer time though and wasnt pregnant and i thought it was because i am a big girl but doctors said it was my asthma and hayfever (which i never had and never suffered with by the way) mixed together i few puffs of my inhaler before bed did the trick hope this helps maybe go speak to you doctor 😊
