TMI - weird period with Xulane patch

So I've been on the Xulane patch for 1 month now, and this is my off week. After 2 days of taking it off, I had some spotting and then 3 days later my period started. But it wasn't like my usual periods which are extremely heavy and a steady flow. This time, it's just like... chunks? And today (WITH A TAMPON IN) I passed a piece that was the size of a quarter dollar. I'm kind of freaked out bc that has never happened to me before. Is this normal?
