Is the word Tranny derogatory ?

Okay so I'm having this fight with these women on how the term "tranny" isn't rude unless you're trans yourself and using it like black people use the "n" word. They say it isn't derogatory or rude, but I've ONLY heard people use it in that sense (except for one of my trans friends using it as a joke)

I'm especially hoping to hear from a couple of our trans men, women and in-binary people 😊 as you guys live it and would know better than I.

How can it be derogatory if that's what they are. It's like people nowadays are so sensitive to the truth and what they are. Kmdt. I believe in calling people what they are. They need to get over it.
