(TMI) Bloody cervical mucous but no period.

My fiance and I are planning to start TTC soon and we have been a little more careless since the decision. We had a couple incidents that occurred over a week ago. I was due for my period a couple of days ago and the day I expected it to come I had cramps, which I usually only get during my period, that lasted 4 hours then disappeared. I went to the bathroom and checked my CM with my finger and when I wiped it, it was brownish/red. I figured my period was definitely coming.

It's been 2 days since that and I have had no other blood or cramps.

I know no one can tell me if I'm pregnant or not but has anyone experienced this before their period or before getting a BFP? I know it can go either way right now because period symptoms and implantation and pregnancy symptoms are so similar. I also know sometimes we can just be late unexpectedly! I am just thrown off because of the blood-tinged CM and mild temporary cramps and then no period. I haven't taken a pregnancy test yet but I'm thinking of testing Tuesday if AF doesn't just come late.
