Is it a bad idea to take baby to work?

Question

I own 50% of a company with 20 employees. My business partner and I do the marketing, bookkeeping, taxes, HR and that sort of thing. We have a manager who deals with the day to day activities.

I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant but I'm trying to plan ahead for maternity leave, etc. I can do some work from home but would like to be back in the office after a month or two. Those with babies already, do you think it would work out to take the baby top work with me when I  go back? Noise isn't an issue and I don't talk on the phone much or have a lot of meetings.  My main reason is I'm hoping to breastfeed and I think breastfeeding would be easier than pumping. It would also be cheaper than daycare.

It sounds like the perfect idea but u need to think of and Wright down anything that could go wrong all day screaming, sick baby ect.
Babies need interaction and stimulation, play time tummy time learning time ect I good nap environment. Just keep all those and more in mind when deciding

I think if you have your own office & are high up with the company as your post says, shouldn't be a problem at all. I think it's awesome you can take your baby to work with you

I own a trucking/excavation company. I have one woman that works in the office as a dispatcher/my secretary. The rest are men who drive the trucks and work as mechanics. I plan to take our baby to work with me when he is born. I may take 2 weeks off at most but I cant be gone any longer than that. I will be breastfeeding but 95% of the time it's just me and my secretary in the office. (she has been with us for 20 years and is more like a best friend so it won't be weird or anything).... everyone else is out on the road or in the garage all day so surely there wont be much of an issue with privacy. Our office is set up as basically one huge room with the front desks for me and the Secretary and a living room type area where we meet with everyone every morning. We have a storage room and bathrooms and that's it. No designated meeting rooms, no designated offices, just one big room. My grandfather started the company 45 years ago and I spent every day of my childhood there since I was 8 weeks old. We are very family oriented and it wont be a problem at all. You will find a way to make it work, it's totally possible!

Buy a wrap and wear baby everywhere!!! I could easily take my kiddo to work in my wrap and get my day done. Wish I could.

I joke that I'd be so happy if I could teach and bring baby to work. It could work but know that newborns sometimes feed for hours at a time, you'll be exhausted from being up all night and you'll need to find a place for baby to sleep that's dark and quiet as after about 4 months my baby needed a dark quiet environment. I would also think about other logistics like where you would breastfeed and how to make yourself comfortable. I would maybe start out with going in once a week and then go from there to see how you transition... I was still in my pjs all day at that point :)

If you're able to o think it's great. I work at a family business that my dad and uncle own and I bring my toddler to work with me a couple times a week. It's nice to spend the day with him and still be making money. And he's been coming here since he was a baby so he now knows the routine and everybody that comes in knows him and always spoils him rotten brining him toys lol 
It's also nice to have an alternative if my sitter is sick I just load him up with me

Just make sure meetings are scheduled in advance that are of high importance that you may not want your baby to be at and get a baby sitter that day for that time.
