Copper IUD &UTIs?

Question

Hey Ladies who have the copper IUD, do you feel like you constantly have a UTI? I go to the doctor for them and get them treated every time, and I ask if it's normal and they don't really give me a straight answer. So I've come here to ask!! Any and all answers would be appreciated! 😋😋

YES. I had one a few years ago and had to have it taken out because it seemed like I was CONSTANTLY getting UTI's. 
I had it taken out and voila: UTIs stopped. 
(When I had mine removed it had "shifted" a bit. i .e. It had moved too low. So I don't know if that had anything to do with it. 
Really bummed though because I have terrible issues with hormonal BC too...

I mean a week after I got mine inserted I was rushed to the ER for PID and they say it was totally unrelated... but I will never let go of the thought that the unclean insertion triggered the bacteria to spread.. we all have these yeast or candida within us, it's just that they grow in number (and THEN you get the symptoms) when you eat processed sugars and things that aren't fruits and vegetables... this is the basics of how disease works. also when you aren't drinking enough water to flush your cellular waste toxins just stay there... Read more into candida first before jumping to that conclusion, I'm sure you can moderate the bacteria especially if you start taking probiotics as well as implement a healthy lifestyle.

No they're unrelated. As another poster said, it sits in your uterus and has nothing to do with the urinary tract.
