My twins have 1 placenta 2 sacs, has anyone had this. What were your twins??

I'm currently pregnant with twins. They are definitely in the same chorion, but have different amnions. The doc thinks there are 2 placentas, but they're not sure. If they share a placenta, they should be identical. If not, they are probably fraternal. Even di/di twins can be identical. It's just rare. The number of amnions/chorions depends on when the egg splits. My doc said we will definitely know when we find out the send of the babies. 😂

Mono-di means they share a placenta but have 2 amniotic sacs, they are in the same chorion which is the outer most layer of the sacs. This means identical.
You can have fraternal twins if their placentas fuse but I think it's usually later in pregnancy and somewhat less common. Not 100% positive though!

One placenta with two sacs typically references mono-di twins which are identical. One placenta will only happen with mono di or mono mono- both identical so I think with you saying one placenta it's identical.  Sometimes two placentas fuse into one but that's very rare.

Pretty sure 2 sacs is alway fraternal.... 1 placenta means they are sharing nutrients, doesn't have to do with being identical or not

they stopped labeling twins "Identical or Fraternal" bc they peoples initial thought was that identical meant same sex & fraternal meant one boy/one girl, bc they have shared DNA, but not the SAME DNA. well there are tons of cases that say other wise, women started having same sex "fraternal" twins and opposite sex "identical twins". i am currently pregnant with Di/Di twins and i have cousin who are "identical" but they are opposite sex. Mo/Mo is Same sack, Same Placenta. Mono/Di is Diff sack, Same Placenta. Di/Di is Different sack

I have 2 sacs as well but I only released one egg so as of right now my docs are saying identical but can't be 100% until a DNA test is done. Hope this helps
