Should I have the say in how I have my baby?

My man wants me to have a natural birth in a hospital. He's very against me having a c section even though it's likely I'll need one. He told me that natural is better for the baby and the baby matters more than me. I just don't think having a c- section is harmful for my child? Shouldn't I have the say??

If you need a c section then you need a c section. That IS thinking about the health of your baby over yourself. I needed one bc my son was a footling breech. I didn't want one, I wanted to go natural, but I NEEDED one for both of our safety. He's trying to frame this like you're being selfish, but he's being selfish.

Yes you should. It's your body and your gonna deal with the pain during birth not him..

A natural birth is better in a way, it clears the fluid in the lungs for the babies first breath. I'd look up the risks of a c section before you go ahead with it. It's a major surgery.

I had one and it was the worst thing in my entire life. The only thing is, it was necessary for my baby to be born. I'm thankful to have a Dr to allow me to try for a vbac, I have the worse anxiety about a repeat csection. Everyone is different just like vaginal births though.

He DOES get a say, but ultimately it's your choice. I'm of the opinion you should always TRY to have a natural birth, but it shouldn't make you feel bad if it can't happen.

It's YOUR body! And some women find that because there is less pain with a c-section (no hard labor for hours on end) that you bond better with your baby. Everyone has their opinion but you need to do what's best for YOU! The baby will be beautiful and perfect either way!

Sometimes C section is better for the baby like in my situation. I labored for 13hrs and doctor said the baby was getting stress and I need it a c section because my pelvis was too small for her head and she was going to suffer and run the risk of getting stuck :/ so I said yes to the operation

C-sections aren't offered unless it's a repeat or a medical necessity...it's 100% your decision, because it's your body. You can take his opinion into consideration, but that should not dictate your choice.
