Thoughts on these??

My cats are clawing, destroy everything fiends!! I want to try these so they stop tearing everything apart in my home. Thought/opinion??

You will have to replace them every now and then. I recommend this 100% NEVER de claw a cat! They need them. It also hurts them bad. Not sure if you were considering it but don't lol

As a vet, I've seen these work for many people. But I've also seen them be a complete waste of money for others. Give them a try and see how they work. I've never used them for my cats, I trim their nails weekly/biweekly (depends on the cat) and that works very well. I also have a ton of scratching posts for them to use (all placed close to their favourite places to scratch). I've got a colleague that swears by Feli-a-way pheromone spray. She sprays it on her furniture. You don't smell it, but cats do and it's synthetically made to smell like their facial pheromones, which tells them to rub against, not scratch the furniture. 
Also, never get your cat declawed. It's like cutting off the tips of all your fingers. It causes permanent nerve damage, chronic pain and a few other health problems. It is illegal in Europe (and possibly Australia- but I'm not sure). In Canada our CVMA is against it and hopefully it'll become illegal practice shortly. The majority of vets will no longer even offer or perform the procedure and we're not taught how in vet school anymore either. It's a horrible thing to do to an animal. So yes try soft paws! Hopefully they work. If they don't there are other options as well and behaviour training is another one (harder with cats but I've seen success).

My brother used them with his cat... and they seemed to work well, but it's an effort to get them on and to replace the ones that fall off

I feel like it would be easier to just trim their nails then to get these things on... let us know how it works if you do use them though.

No it isn't animal abuse. However, good luck getting them on! Best idea is to trim kittys nails weekly and get it a scratching post. It really helped my cat

SmartyKat sells a "scratch not" spray that has helped my cats. Something to try at least!

These nails are a pain to get on they fall off everywhere I would not waste your money on them get that spray for scratching to spray on things you don't want them to scratch!!!

We loved using kitty caps. Eventually we made our kitties outside cats but these definitely helped while they were inside.

To get these on you need the skills and cooperation to cut yor cats nails as they have to be cut to be applied. If you don't have that, you can go to groomers or vet to get them applied. Much more humane option than declawing,  used in conjunction with training (rewarding with treats or play when use proper scratching posts) work well.

They worked great when my cats were still alive.  They really weren't that hard to get on if you had two people: one to hold kitty and the other to put the caps on.  Hope it works as well for you!
