Have you been able to breastfeed as long as you had planned?

ZERO judgement here, just curious how others BF journey has gone.

My goal was 6 months, but at first it was soooo painfull for the whole first month I changed my goal to 3 months haha, but after the second month it was really easy to breastfeed so now i'm looking at 1 year. 😊 or at least until we introduce the 3.25%.

My minimum was 6 months. Now it is a year but I have given myself grace for when I return to work at 7.5 month (I'm a teacher so I got summer as part of my maternity leave)

My conservative goal was 6 months then my son had a tongue tie and couldn't drain so I was pumping after every feeding of 30 minutes. I misremembered that he was eating half an oz from each breast but recently found the notes from my meeting with the lactation consultant where he only ate half an oz total in 45 minutes. After about a month he was still hungry even when I fed him the pumped milk except in the early morning and my supply never kept up with his demand. I started combo feeding then at 3 months he stopped nursing completely and refused for 2 straight weeks. I kept pumping for 2 more months a couple times a day but quit when he hit 22 weeks- I said I wanted to at least go 5 months after all the drama so at least I made it that long but I was pretty upset at how it went. He just turned 6 months old and we have started solids in the past few weeks- he seems to like everything! I am looking forward to when he eats real meals and I am no longer thinking about how I'm not breastfeeding him. Here's a picture of my sweet boy!

I was set on BF but my Lo was born and spent time in the nicu. She had swallowing issues due to be intubated so we had to thicken her liquids. I exclusively pump and have been since day 1. She's 6 months now and we bottle feed her bf half and just started supplementing in the past month w formula a few bottles a day. We got the ok to go to the breast at 6 weeks but honestly pumping works just fine and will probably go to pumping for baby 2 as well.

My original goal was at least 6 months but we are about to hit that so next goal is at least 1 year but whenever she wants to stop is fine with me 😊
