When did you find out you were carrying multiples?

I have 2 sets of fraternal twins in my family, 1 identical set, and a set of triplets. Doctors were surprised at my hcg levels being only 3-4 weeks. They estimate I'm due march 11th. Can this be twins? How did you find out? Ultrasound, heart beat, hcg levels?

6 week ultrasound, and actually HCG levels that are exceptionally high are statistically somewhat more likely to occur with twins than singletons. However it's not one-to-one so don't assume automatically based on your levels alone! I did IVF and transferred 3 embryos, so my chances were bigger. Then the beta came at 4 weeks 521 and 48h later 1050. My doctor said that that didn't mean anything anyway (I saw it could indicate though...).
Went for an echo at 6w4d and saw both babies with heartbeat ❤️❤️

I found out at 4 weeks and 4 days at the ER getting my next ultrasound next Monday hoping they are both growing healthy and strong ....

10 week ultrasound. We joked around about having twins. They run on both sides of our families so it wasn't a surprise.

Found out at 9 week ultrasound. Once we knew, a lot of things made sense! I got a positive pregnancy test at only cycle day 21, and it was very positive not using first morning urine! - as were the 4 more pregnancy tests I took that day. I got very terrible morning sickness (vomiting 20+ times per day) at only 5 weeks. I started showing around 8 weeks. So it all made sense when we saw those two little babies on the screen ❤️❤️

HCG levels mean absolutely nothing. They are different for everyone. The best way to confirm it is with an ultrasound. I had really low hcg levels and when we went in to confirm the pregnancy was viable we found out at 6 weeks that we were definitely having twins.
