IUD and how it's implanted?

For the ladies who have gotten their IUD what is the procedure like? I'm mainly asking the ladies who haven't given birth.

Funny you ask... I just went to get mirena yesterday and after 3 attempts it perforated my uterus. So she had to take it out and I have wait to try again. It wasn't super painful until the end. It was definitely uncomfortable but not nearly as bad as I anticipated.

I had one implanted once.  They open you up with the speculum, then they have this straw thing with the iud inside. They force the straw past your cervix (which was extremely painful in my experience). They push the iud into your uterus take the straw/tube thing out.  They then cut the wire so that it hangs past the cervix and inside the vagina. Then they take out the speculum.   Its really quick but the procedure will likely cause some painful cramps which I experienced despite premedicating with ibuprofen.

I had a very difficult time getting it inserted. The first person couldn't do it because my cervix wouldn't open enough for insertion. I had to go back on a different day for someone else to try. The second person was successful however it was quite painful during and after. I also had a vasovagal reaction and almost passed out. I wouldn't recommend to someone who hasn't given birth, unless necessary.

It's kinda like when you get a Pap smear, only they're placing an IUD. There's a super painful intense cramp that lasts for only a few seconds, so it's best to take some Motrin or something like it before the appointment. That's about it. Doesn't take that long at all.
