I'm 22 and new to BC and I haven't really put much thought into it as far as condoms and the pullout. For the sole fact that I have seizures, I take 3 different medications and I dont want anything hormonal to off balance me or induce one. I was recently recommended Mirena, then the OB changed her mind to Skyla because it's smaller and has less hormones. I later got a call that I need to take medications 4 hours prior to insertion,... are those pain meds?? Were you prescribed them as well I'm curious. All I've read were horror stories and I believe them: the 2%> migration of the IUD, the removal= stomach bag, the severe pain, the infertility.

I planned this around my last relationship to be proactive if we were going to be serious.I like kids but I also don't like kids at the moment to have one of my own (unless they bark and have a tail that can wag).

How severe is said pain? 2 alleves and go? Or the whole same day and next off? I work construction so it's pretty laborious.

- I do have heavy periods, not crime scene

- I need to have my period still for my own sanity, just lighter

- How long is the spotting?
