Mirena IUD help

Anyone who has/had a mirena iud care to share how it worked for you?

I'm getting a laparoscopy for endometriosis and the doctor suggested I get one but I'm not sure.

I'm not on any birth control, I absolutely hated being on the pill and the patch.

But Im not at all interested in having kids right now and neither is my husband so I'm considering an iud, I'm just worried about the side effects.

I know it's different for everyone but I'd like to hear how it worked out for you personally!
