Skin care?

Okay bare with me here.

I'm 17 and I've never really taken care of my skin, I'm going back to school in a month and I'm going to be wearing makeup on a daily basis so I'm a little more hard pressed to find a good routine.

I get bad breakouts during my period but they usually go away within the week after it ends, other than that I don't ever get breakouts except 1x or 2x a month.

I'm fair skinned, combination skin type but get very dry skin patches as well.

Can anyone recommend skin care products to use? Any kind of routine?

I know it's very important to completely remove makeup before I go to sleep but other than that I'm a bit clueless as to a routine for my skin.

Oxy pads and oxy face wash have helped me a lot, and the neutrogena hydro boost moisturizer for extra-dry skin helps a lot too. Besides that, drinking water, or water with lemon, or tea helps detox. Don't binge eat junk food on your period if you can help it haha as well, I always used to and my acne would get much worse

just wanted to mention don't over exfoliate (exfoliate 1-2 times a week) I did this when I first got into taking care of my skin- with BAD results. with your skin type I wouldn't risk over exfoliating. Invest in a good moisturizer that doesn't clog pores (suggest a moisturizing gel) also a good toner use it at night after removing makeup and washing your face- get a sensitive toner or at least one that doesn't have alcohol in it, try and find one that has witch hazel or rose water ;)

If you aren't used to washing your than don't just jump into doing a crazy skin routine! It can make you break out worse. I have fair, combination skin and I break out mostly on my period also. I usually take showers in the morning before work so I use Clearasil Daily Fash wash which has acne medication in it! It is gently on the skin but fights acne and you really will have visibly clearer skin in 12 hrs. After that I pay my face dry and I use coconut oil for a moisturizer. It's amazing for the skin and keeps it soft, hydrated, and doesn't bother my skin at all. Now, at night time I use coconut oil to remover my makeup (even removes waterproof makeup with out burning or irritating the eyes) and than I use Aveeno Daily face wash Pads and they're amazing also! Then I use coconut oil to moisturize! Also, once a month I use Biore charcoal scrub to remove any black heads and I do a face peel off charcoal face mask!

I have combo skin with an oily T-zone and sometimes get really dry patches. I swear by the Origins Checks and Balances cleanser. It does wonders keeping my skin balanced and clear. I use coconut oil after that and then at night, I top with St Ives Timeless Skin collagen elastin moisturizer. Under makeup I use a light gel moisturizer

Drink lots of water with lemon in it. (Lemon and water detox the body)-biotin vitamins also help with skin hair and nails (grows the hair and nails while clearing skin and giving you elasticity)-also exercise helps a lot-vine Vera products are bomb af they have me looking 15 while I'm 19 lol BUT it's super expensive so I don't recommend unless you're rich.-wash your skin twice a day massage with water first and then use Noxema deep skin cleaner (this can be found at target[day and night])
