First Food?

So my son is about 4 1/2 months old and we've started him on oatmeal and cereal, and the doctor said once he gets a little better at spoon feeding we can try puréed baby food also. Any suggestions on good starter baby food?

I'm planning on making all of my babies food rather than buying it, and Pinterest is amazing as far as recipes go and what ages you can give them certain fruits & veggies

Be careful. You dont want to develop allergies with all the experiments. Start with one kind a week. After my daughter got used to oatmeal, we introduced prunes. Would add some oatmeal to the sauce and it was perfect. The next week try sometime different. Also 1 kind for whole week. The recommended age by pediatricians for food introduction is 6-8 months, when baby can sit on his own without ANY support. Nowadays a lot of mothers start their babies on those as early as possible. Baby's liver is not formed yet and too much new stuff can cause severe allergies later on in life. Best of luck to you 😊🌹

At the stores they show like the 1st foods to try for babies. It's like stage 1. I did bananas, apples, squash, and sweet potatoes. Obviously try one food a week at a time in case of a food allergy.
