Has anyone taken a tour of the hospital they will deliver at? Any good questions to ask?

Had one, pretty much covered everything Ive learned from it that I need private recovery room, not sharing it with other women

I went a while ago.  I asked food policies, alternate pushing positions, rules about using the tubs, etc.

Are they private rooms, is there kitchenette where my hubs and I can bring our own food, microwaves etc, can I get copy of menu I can order from within hospital, does baby stay with me, how soon after can I walk around etc

I found a list of things to ask on Pinterest.  I had questions about pain management options , birthing options/positions, guest policies, if I was able to bring my own pillows/oil diffusers... things like that!  Check out Pinterest for good hospital your questions !

We had a wonderful hospital tour! They were very informative, I don't think I even really had to ask anything. They showed a video clip prior to the tour as well with more info. I think every hospital is different, but ask anything you're curious about! The goal is to leave the tour comfortable and semi ready to give birth there.

I went in to find out about a tour and they only do them on the first and fourth of every month and I am due in 4 weeks (Aug 4th) so since they were not busy a very nice nurse showed me around, made it even more real

I asked if they know what they will be sending me home with ( for example: diapers, numbing spray, pads etc.) 
They said nothing! They need you to bring baby outfit! They don't send you or baby home with goods. Which is contrary to what my mom and family told me. So that was good to know. 
Also that I will be moved an hour after giving birth to a different room. And baby will get all shots and things in the room and will not leave my side unless there is an emergency.

Yes and it was totally worth it! I had a list from Pinterest too but it helped to know where to go, see the rooms and also they have some really high tech security mechanism in place that I'm glad we found out ahead of time.
